  • Demonstrate knowledge and recognition of traditional Chinese virtues (e.g. Integrity, Benevolence and Propriety), have remarkable achievements or active participation in activities related to Chinese culture

  • Applicants should read the Information Note (for 2025/26) before completing the application
  • Download, complete and submit the application via the student portal MyHKMU [After logging in, click the study programme on the top left corner -> click “Financial Assistance / Scholarships” on the top menu -> click “Scholarships” -> click “Apply” next to the relevant scholarship name]
  • Read the instructions on the Application Form and submission platform carefully
  • Late applications and applications with missing information or documents will not be considered
Remarks
  • Selection interview will be held in December. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of the interview details via HKMU email.
  • Awardees will automatically become members of the 'For Our Future' Alumni Club (the Alumni Club) and must join the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation's YO PLACE as members
  • Awardees are required to complete a total of 30 hours of community services or activities organised by the Alumni Club or the Foundation during the coming year to receive the full scholarship
  • Awardees will be invited to attend the presentation ceremony organised by the donor in April

Amount per Award

Capped at HK$300,000 per awardee or the total cost of the overseas study, whichever is lower. The scholarship covers economy-class return airfare, tuition fees, room and board, as well as a portion of living expenses during their study overseas.

Awardees are encouraged to seek additional funding sources to cover expenses not covered by the Foundation. Meanwhile, awardees will receive additional support through a network of past and current scholarship recipients

Number of AwardThe University will nominate up to 1 student for HSBC's consideration. There is no guaranteed award quota for any institutions.

  • The ceiling of all the scholarship monies received by an awardee should not exceed HK$60,000 in the current academic year. In case of excess, the exceeding amount will be deducted from this scholarship.
