Student Affairs Office Scholarships and Awards Dr Sin Wai Kin Scholarships

Dr David Sin Wai Kin has a long history of supporting HKMU students through scholarships. Currently the HKMU students are awarded two scholarships in recognition of Mainland students’ outstanding academic performance and remarkable achievements of  local or Mainland students who demonstrate knowledge and recognition of traditional Chinese virtues.

Who’s Eligible?

  • Applicants should be full-time Bachelor's degree local or Mainland students;
  • New and continuing students should have achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 3.0 in the Autumn Term of the 2024/25 Academic Year; and
  • (Chinese Culture Scholarship) Applicants are able to demonstrate knowledge and recognition of traditional Chinese virtues (e.g. Integrity, Benevolence and Propriety), have remarkable achievements or active participation in activities related to Chinese culture.

Types of Scholarship:

  • Dr. Sin Wai Kin provides the following scholarships for HKMU students, namely:

        1. Outstanding Mainland Students Scholarship 

        2. Chinese Culture Scholarship

How to Apply?

  1. Awardees of Outstanding Mainland Students Scholarship are nominated by the Student Affairs Office based on their academic achievements in last academic year and other criteria. Students are not required to submit relevant applications.
  2. Applicants of the Chinese Culture Scholarship should have remarkable achievements or active participation in activities related to Chinese culture, and they should demonstrate knowledge and recognition of traditional Chinese virtues, e .g. Integrity, Benevolence and Propriety.
  3. Applicants of the Chinese Culture Scholarship should submit the online application form together with supporting documents to SAO during the application period. Please read the “Guidance Notes” [FSWK_C (2024/25) Guide-e] before completing the online application via the student portal “MyHKMU” (https://www.hkmu.edu.hk/myhkmu). 
  4. Application Period (Application Deadline): 25 November 2024 to 29 December 2024 (Sunday)
Notification of Result

  • The result and payment arrangement will be announced (via e-mail) no later than May 2025.
