Mode: Full Time, Part Time/Distance Learning

Level: Sub-Degree, Undergraduate, Postgraduate

Origin: Local, Non-local

School: All Schools

Means: By Nomination

Eligibility:

  • Will attend global learning activities which are organised or arranged by HKMU
  • The activity should last for 10 days or below
  • The activity should not be sponsored by other sources of funds
  • Students should not be awarded more than once within the same Academic Year

Amount per Award:

  • Up to HK$6,000 or up to 50% of the total expenses for participating in the activities in Macau, Taiwan and the Mainland China
  • Up to HK$12,000 or up to 50% of the total expenses for participating in the activities outside Macau, Taiwan and the Mainland China
  • The award is granted on a reimbursement basis

No. of Award: Approximately 30

Nomination Period: Two rounds nomination each year, from September to December for 1st round, and from January to March for 2nd round

Eligibility:

  • Will participate in learning activities, internship or service programmes, as well as national, regional and international events and competitions that are conducted outside Hong Kong and organised/endorsed by HKMU
  • The activity should last for 14 days or above and be held in the current Academic Year
  • Continuing students with CGPA of 2.0 or above and study the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes
  • New students should have satisfactory academic results during secondary/ post-secondary education (including public examinations) if their CGPA is not available
  • Local students who are in receipt of means-tested student financial assistance (i.e. FASP) from Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are in receipt of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA)
  • Students can receive once throughout the study in programme at the same level of study in Hong Kong

Amount per Award:

  • Ranges from HK$9,000 to HK$60,000 (depends on the destination, duration of the activity and level of student finance (in terms of percentage of full grant) approved by the Government SFO
  • The amount of subsidy granted should not exceed the direct costs arising from the participation in the concerned exchange activity

  • The activity should last for 5 days or above and be held in the current Academic Year
  • Continuing students with CGPA of 2.0 or above and study the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes
  • New students should have satisfactory academic results during secondary/ post-secondary education (including public examinations) if their CGPA is not available
  • Local students who are in receipt of means-tested student financial assistance (i.e. FASP) from Student Finance Office (SFO) or whose families are in receipt of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA)
  • Students can receive twice at most throughout the study in programme at the same level of study in Hong Kong

Amount per Award:

  • Ranges from HK$1,950 to HK$14,400 (depends on the destination and duration of the activity)
  • The amount of subsidy granted should not exceed the direct costs arising from the participation in the concerned exchange activity

Eligibility:

  • Must be successfully admitted to the competitions with a theme related to innovation or creativity before submitting the funding application
  • Each successful application, either from an individual student or a team of no more than 10 students may receive sponsorship for participating in competitions held in Hong Kong and mainland China

Amount per Award:

  • Ranges from HK$3,000 to HK$13,000 (depends on the destination, duration, individual and collective expenses)
  • The sponsorship will only cover the expenses incurred during the period of stay (up to 5 days) for the concerned activities
  • The award is granted on a reimbursement basis

No. of Award: Approximately 10

Nomination Period: 

  • All year round
  • At least 3 weeks before the registration deadline of the concerned competition

Nomination Details:

  • The University [Organising Schools or administrative units of the school-based competition] will directly inform selected students of the relevant scholarship awards
  • Organising Schools or administrative units of the school-based competition will invite selected nominees to fill in a form by providing 500-800 words proposal for the admitted competition

特定学院环球学习奖励计划(适用于人文社会科学院, 李兆基商业管理学院, 教育及语文学院, 护理及健康学院及科技学院)

Mode: Full Time, Part Time/Distance Learning

Level: Postgraduate

Origin: Local, Non-local

School: A&SS, B&A, E&L, N&HS, S&T

Means: By Nomination

Eligibility:

  • Will attend local or overseas conference
  • HKMU student who is pursing the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programme
  • Have completed 6 calendar months of study normally

Amount per Award:

  • Up to HK$20,000 for a PhD student throughout his/her period of study on the research degree programme
  • Up to HK$10,000 for an Mphil student throughout his/her period of study on the research degree programme
  • The award is granted on a reimbursement basis

No. of Award: Approximately 30

Nomination Period: Year-round

Nomination Details:

  • The University [Office of Research Affairs and Knowledge Transfer] will coordinate the funding applications, and the organising Schools will directly inform selected students of the relevant scholarship awards
  • Organising Schools will invite selected nominees to fill in a form and provide the supporting documents including but not limited to (a) the conference programme, (b) a copy of the letter of acceptance for paper presentation at the conference, (c) an abstract of the paper to be presented and (d) a quotation obtained from the HKMU designated travel agencies

Remarks: The organising Schools will arrange disbursement to awardees who must complete the approved activity and submit a satisfactory reflection report

Mode: Full Time

Level: Undergraduate

School: A&SS, B&A, E&L, N&HS, S&T

Means: By Application

Eligibility:

  • Will attend global learning activities which are not organised or arranged by HKMU, i.e. self-sourced by the applicants
  • The activity should last for at least 3 days and be held in the summer break of the current Academic Year
  • Continuing students students with CGPA of 2.5 or above and study the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes
  • New students should have satisfactory academic results during secondary/ post-secondary education (including public examinations) if their CGPA is not available

Amount per Award:

  • Activity last for 3 to 5 days: HK$3,000
  • Activity last for 6 to 9 days: HK$5,000
  • Activity last for 10 to 13 days: HK$7,000
  • Activity last for 14 days or above: HK$10,000
  • The award is not on reimbursement basis but may cover whole/ part of the expenses

  • The University [A&SS] will directly inform selected students of the relevant scholarship awards

Means: By Application

Eligibility:

  • Will attend outbound exchange activities which should last for one term or the immersion programmes which should last for at least 2 weeks
  • Year 1 to Year 4 students who study in Early Childhood Education programmes
  • For applicants who apply the Fund for overseas immersion programmes, they must have participated in learning activities held in Mainland China for 2 days or above in the past 2 years

Amount per Award:

  • Overseas programme (one term or longer): HK$60,000
  • Overseas or Mainland China immersion programmes (2 weeks or longer): HK$20,000
  • The award is granted on a reimbursement basis

Eligibility:

  • Will attend local or overseas conferences
  • Continuing students (including fresh graduates who have graduated within 6 months) with CGPA of 3.0 or above

Amount per Award:

  • Up to HK$5,000
  • The award is granted on a reimbursement basis

No. of Award: Up to 10

Nomination Period:

  • All year round
  • At least 3 months before the registration deadline of the proposed conference

Nomination Details:

  • The University [School of Nursing and Health Sciences] will directly inform selected students of the relevant scholarship awards
  • School will invite selected nominees to fill in a form by providing 500-800 words proposal for the proposed conference

Remarks:

  • Priorities will be given to students with accepted article(s) as author or co-author for conference presentation
  • Students should not receive other award or sponsorship for the same reaching out conference
  • School will arrange disbursement to awardees who must complete the approved activity and submit a satisfactory reflection report
