HKMU Admission Scholarships

The University presents a variety of prestigious admission scholarships to recognize academically outstanding and/or talented local and non-local undergraduate students. No separate application is required except the HKMU Admission Sports Scholarship Scheme. The University will directly inform the selected students of the relevant scholarship awards.

A number of University-funded, donated and government scholarships are awarded to students demonstrating academic merit or non-academic achievements. In the 2024/25 Academic Year, a remarkable 1,800 HKMU students received scholarships totalling over HK$44 million.

Scholarships for JUPAS Applicants

HKMU Admission Scholarship Scheme for HKDSE Students

Eligibility:

Attain outstanding results in the HKDSE examination
Year-1 entry local students admitted through JUPAS channel

HKMU Admission Scholarship Scheme for HKDSE Star Students

Mode: Full Time

Level: Undergraduate

Origin: Local

School: A&SS, B&A, E&L, N&HS, S&T

Means: By Nomination

Eligibility:

Achieve 5* and 5** in any Category A subjects in the current year HKDSE examination
Year-1 entry local students admitted to HKMU degree programmes through the JUPAS channel

Amount per Award:

HK$40,000 for each subject
Normally up to 3 subjects with star per student

Attain outstanding results in the HKDSE examination
Year-1 entry local students admitted through non-JUPAS channels

Amount per Award: HK$30,000

HKMU Admission Scholarship Scheme for Top-up Degree Students

Senior-year entry local students admitted through non-JUPAS channels

Amount per Award: HK$40,000

Scholarships for Mainland China and International Applicants

HKMU Admission Scholarship Scheme for International Students

Mode: Full Time

Level: Undergraduate

Origin: Non-local

School: A&SS, B&A, E&L, S&T

Means: By Nomination

Eligibility:

Attain outstanding international qualifications
Year-1 entry non-local students (excluding students from the Mainland China, Macao and Taiwan) admitted through non-JUPAS channels

Amount per Award:

Top Award awardee: Full tuition scholarship (covering annual tuition in full) plus free accommodation (as assigned by the University) and living allowance of HK$45,000 per year
Second Award awardee: Full tuition scholarship (covering 100% of annual tuition fee)
Third Award awardee: Half tuition scholarship (covering 50% of annual tuition fee)

Attain outstanding band-one scores in the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE)
Year-1 entry non-local (Chinese Mainland) students admitted through non-JUPAS channels

Top Award awardee: HK$80,000
Second Award awardee: HK$40,000

Attain outstanding qualifications
Final year undergraduate students of Wuhan College

Amount per Award:

Up to HK$150,000 (granted by means of tuition waiver of the enrolled programme)

Scholarships for Sports Athletes Applicants

HKMU Admission Sports Scholarship Scheme

Means: By Application

Eligibility:

Attain outstanding record(s) in local/ regional/ national/ international competitions

Amount per Award:

Local awardee: HK$80,000 per year
Non-local awardee: HK$120,000 per year and a complimentary place in University's off-campus accommodation (subject to availability)

No. of Award: Up to 4

Application Period:

Local applicants: before 31 January
Non-local applicants: before 31 May
