Creative Arts Graduation Show 2024

This year's Creative Arts Graduation Show was held between 19 and 28 July with the theme “Little Spark”, which symbolises the journey of each graduate as they pursue their aspirations and bloom their infinite creativity in the profound starry sky. Over 200 fresh graduates from five programmes showcased more than 120 masterpieces, each exploring topics related to the individual, family and society.

Bionic Fear

The animation describes a girl who is deeply bothered by an unidentified fear while drawing in a room. Eventually, she turns this fear into anger and confronts it. Through this work, Wong Kam-yuen, Chan Kwun-wai and Wong Pak-hei explore how the development of artificial intelligence brings challenges and impacts to art creation.

Walled Past

Inspired by the Kowloon Walled City, Chan Chun-wai, Kenny Lambert Fung and Lam Man-hei developed a virtual reality (VR) game to provide players with an immersive experience of the Walled City's environment and the residents' life in the old times, thereby enhancing their understanding of the importance of preserving historical and cultural heritage.

In My Memory

So Mei-mei filmed a heartwarming story about a girl and her grandfather. The granddaughter, who lives outside Hong Kong, feels sorry for not being able to come back and attend her grandfather's funeral due to the pandemic. After the pandemic, she returns to Hong Kong and reminisces about the happy moments with her grandfather. At the same time, the deceased grandfather comes back home to reunite with his granddaughter in a special way.

Mil Mill : Mil for Future

Given the future implementation of municipal solid waste charging in Hong Kong, Fan Chun-lok, Lai Chun-kit, Li Ka-wing, Ronnie Sung Hiu-kay and Zeng Rongxing designed an advertising campaign for Mil Mill, a local pulp mill and education centre focused on beverage carton recycling. The campaign includes the launch of a mobile application and a mobile education publicity vehicle to provide the general public with guidance on proper garbage categorisation and recycling techniques, while at the same time enhancing Mil Mill's brand awareness.

LOOK

Through their video art, Grace Ko Yan-yin and Chan Ka-wai depict a girl with colour blindness embarking on an exploratory journey in the city. It offers the audience an intimate glimpse into the inner world of people with colour blindness and conveys a fresh interpretation of the richness of life.
