资讯科技理学副学士课程规例

本规例乃根据《副学位颁授规例》(副学位)第一至四段制定。

《副学位颁授规例》及《教务规例》内词汇释义所采用的定义同时适用于本规例。

資訊科技理学副学士课程
1. 学生必须符合下列规定,方可获考虑颁授資訊科技理学副学士
  a) 符合《入学、注册及学籍规例》所载的规定;及
  b) 符合《副学位颁授规例》(副学位)所载的规定;及
  c) 按有关副学士课程规例修毕指定的科目,取得至少80学分。
2. 按大学规定,修读資訊科技理学副学士课程,学生必须:
  a) 选修表一的基础程度科目,取得40学分;及
  b) 选修表一的中级或高级程度科目,取得40学分。

注:

  1. 此等科目与某些科目不可兼修;在不可兼修的科目组合中,只有其中一科会计算入有关学术资格之内。有关资料,学生应参阅不可兼修的科目组合列表。
     
  2. 全日制面授教学的科目。这些科目与编号相同的科目属同一科目,惟前者的编号之后有 "F"一字。例如:BUS B100 与 BUS B100F 为同一科目,但采用不同的教学方式。学生如已修毕全日制面授教学的科目,不得重复修读遥距教学的相同科目,反之亦然。
     
  3. IT E150、MATH S121、COMP S201COMP S263、 COMP S269 及 COMP S359 已取代旧科目。学生已修毕旧科目会视同已修毕新科目,即:

    IT E150 = IT L150

    MATH S121 = MATH S111 = MATH S101 (惟校方只计算 MATH S101 其中10学分入此课程)

    COMP S201 = COMP S210

    COMP S263 = MATH S261

    COMP S269 = COMP S268

    COMP S359 = COMP S358 = COMP S357

  4. 此等科目现已停办。
     
  5. 已修毕 IT S101F 的学生,会视同已修毕 IT S102F 和 IT S103F。
     
  6. 已修毕 BUS B100 / BUS B100F 的学生,会视同已修毕 BUS B103 / BUS B103F。
     
  7. 已修毕 BIS B121 / BIS B121F 的学生,会视同已修毕 BIS B123 / BIS B123F
     
  8. ENGL E110 和 ENGL E120 已取代 ENGL E100。 已修毕 ENGL E100 的学生,会视同已修毕 ENGL E110 和 ENGL E120。

Hugo Leung Wai-yin, who graduated from his four-year programme in 2015, won the Best Paper Award for his ‘intelligent pill-dispenser’ design at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics – China 2015.

The pill-dispenser alerts patients via sound and LED flashes to pre-set dosage and time intervals. Unlike units currently on the market, Hugo’s design connects to any mobile phone globally. In explaining how it works, he said: ‘There are three layers in the portable pillbox. The lowest level is a controller with various devices which can be connected to mobile phones in remote locations. Patients are alerted by a sound alarm and flashes. Should they fail to follow their prescribed regime, data can be sent via SMS to relatives and friends for follow up.’ The pill-dispenser has four medicine slots, plus a back-up with a LED alert, topped by a 500ml water bottle. It took Hugo three months of research and coding to complete his design, but he feels it was worth all his time and effort.

Hugo’s public examination results were disappointing and he was at a loss about his future before enrolling at the OUHK, which he now realizes was a major turning point in his life. He is grateful for the OUHK’s learning environment, its industry links and the positive guidance and encouragement from his teachers. The University is now exploring the commercial potential of his design with a pharmaceutical company. He hopes that this will benefit the elderly and chronically ill, as well as the society at large.

Soon after completing his studies, Hugo joined an automation technology company as an assistant engineer. He is responsible for the design and development of automation devices. The target is to minimize human labor and increase the quality of products. He is developing products which are used in various sections, including healthcare, manufacturing and consumer electronics.
