Academic Credential Verification

The University provides verification of the academic credentials of its graduates to authorized parties, such as employers, professional bodies, and other institutions, for legitimate purposes.
Here you will find instructions on how to request a verification, processing times, required documentation, and contact details for additional assistance.
Please review the guidelines carefully to ensure your request is completed accurately and in accordance with the University's policies.
Note:
1) For verification of the records of current students, or those without graduation records, please contact the Student Records Team at regrec@hkmu.edu.hk.
2) For verification of qualifications awarded by the Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE), please contact LiPACE at lipace@hkmu.edu.hk.

Verification Workflow:

1. Submit Verification Request

The third party responsible for conducting the verification should submit the request by one of the following channels:
Please include the following with the request:
  • A valid consent form signed by the graduate; and
  • Details of the HKMU credentials to be verified

2. Provision of graduate's consent

The graduate's consent must include the information below:
Alternatively, you may submit a completed consent form (download template HERE) for our further processing.
If detailed information of a graduate's academic standing and results is needed, please ask the graduate to apply for a copy of testimonial and/or transcript to be sent directly to you.

3. Review and Processing Time

The verification will normally be processed within 3 working days* upon receipt of the request with a valid authorization letter/consent form. No handling fee is required.

*During peak season, the process may take up to 5 working days.

4. Provision of Verification results

Results will be provided to the authorized company by email.

*Results will not be provided or forwarded to the graduates concerned.
(i) If the submission contains insufficient information, or the consent form does not meet our requirements, we will reply to your email with further guidelines and instructions.
(ii) The application will be put on hold until sufficient information and a valid consent form have been submitted. If no response is received within one month, the application will be treated as withdrawn. A new submission with valid supporting documents will be required.
(iii) Once the required information is received, the application will be reviewed again within 3 working days.
