I am Brazilian and a mother of three. I graduated from the Higher Diploma in Psychology in 2019, and I must say, I had made the right decision in choosing this programme at OUHK LiPACE!
The HD Psychology programme at LiPACE was academically preparative, yet meaningful, encouraging and inspiring. The programme provided a very solid foundation for me, and I performed very well during my BSSc (Hons) in Psychology at EdUHK in which I have just graduated with a First Class Honours Award this year! Beside the knowledge attained, I have also formed great relationships with the students and staff members. Inside and outside of classroom. In fact, teachers and friends I have made while studying at LiPACE, were always there, helping and advising me all the way through my Bachelor degree studies at EdUHK.
Now, I feel confident and ready to start another new chapter in my life!

I have always been curious about human behavior and wanted to learn ways to help improve people's well-being. While I was studying my Higher Diploma in Psychology, I received abundant psychological knowledge and theory. The most memorable part was learning counselling skills, which helped me build up a cornerstone for further study and occupation. This course allowed me to learn foundation counselling skills and to gain a much deeper understanding of myself. These skills have helped me handle further study and practice more easily, and they are still useful and very much needed in my current job!

很欣赏导师在课堂中运用生动的例子，让学生更了解理论的内容。我亦认识心理学不同的范畴，可以按照自己的性格特质和喜好，选择自己的方向。我比较喜欢 Introduction to Counselling 和Personality Theories两科，令我更深入了解人有独特的性格特质，以及利用 case studies 尝试模仿心理学家与client沟通。
面对目前事业的挑战，课程有助训练我的耐性，使我更成熟和全面地协助别人。当我每次成功帮到客人找到心仪物业，都很有满足感。认识到新的客户朋友之如，也学到行外不同的知识。就像心理学家的历程一样，能够安抚、引导别人解决内心矛盾，也能从别人身上感受到人生历练。
心理学是一门值得深造的学问。培养我的正向思维，学习换位和多方面思考，了解凡事都没有绝对的对与错。除应用于社会工作，更有助个人身心发展，了解与人相处之道，将会是一生受用的。

读心理学的想法应该是在中学时期开始萌生，我对人的性格、行为和想法都很有兴趣，不过最重要的是我希望透过心理学了解自己。在LiPACE修读高级文凭的两年间，我从完全不懂怎样去研究一个议题到自己亲身完成一个研究，过程中学习到很多重要的理论、概念和技巧，对大学时期的毕业论文和读硕士研究都有很大帮助。心理学是一门重视理论和概念的科学，它并不像数学一样有绝对的答案，只要你能用理论去清楚解释就是你的答案，因此，你的数据库愈多理论和概念，就可以从不同的角度去看这个世界。
目前，我在台湾修读人类性学研究所，主要是从生理、心理及社会的角度探讨性、教育、关系等议题。希望在毕业后回到香港，可以一展所长，在性议题方面，运用心理学的知识，帮助有需要的人。

The past two years have been a transformative and magical journey for me! I have grown from being a high school to a university student and I have gotten to know more and more about the local culture of Hong Kong. I have never regretted my decision to come to Hong Kong to study psychology when I was 18 years old. In addition to the many professional knowledge, I have learned in the course during these years, what I am most grateful for is the many wonderful people I have met. With their help, encouragement and companionship, I gradually adapted to life here and became more brave and confident.
This September, I graduated from MUHK LiPACE and entered EduHK to continue my exploration in the field of psychology. I gradually developed a clearer planning for my future. I decided to focus on educational psychology as my concentration and to pursue more in-depth research and experience in this field in the coming time. I know that I will face many challenges in my new journey, but I believe that I can grow from these difficulties and all the experiences will be the motivating force to drive me to achieve further in my life!

我修读心理学源于我自己一直都在社福界工作，课程与工作相关。一直以来，我读书的成绩都比较逊色，尤其在英文语言能力方面，再加上工作了一段时间，要再重新投入读书的环境实在有一定的难度。幸好，老师及同学都不断支持及鼓励我，我最后也顺利毕业。
毕业后，我依然在社福界工作，服务对象是一班智障人士，主要工作是照顾他们的起居饮食、设计及进行训练活动/课程。从心理学课程中学到的知识，不但令我更容易掌握学员的困难，能达到学以致用，而且令我在工作上更有信心接纳及支援学员改进行为问题。
