Professor Liah Greenfeld is University Professor and Professor of Sociology, Political Science, and Anthropology at Boston University. Between 2011 and 2016 she was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. She is the author, among numerous other publications, of the trilogy on nationalism and modern culture, including Nationalism: Five Roads to Modernity; The Spirit of Capitalism: Nationalism and Economic Growth; and Mind, Modernity, Madness: The Impact of Culture on Human Experience (Harvard University Press, 1992, 2001, 2013).
Research Interests
Professor Liah Greenfeld current interests focus on the study of civilizations, especially the comparison between the Chinese and Western (or monotheistic) civilizations.
