Message from the Dean

Welcome to the School of Education and Languages at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University.

The School of Education and Languages (E&L) is the home of six full-time undergraduate degree programmes as well as numerous part-time distance learning programmes across different levels that are highly in demand. We pride ourselves in offering an interdisciplinary, creative, and practical teaching and learning experience to our students, with emphasis not only on theory-based classroom learning, but also on skills-oriented practicum. Our School also organizes a variety of co-curricular activities to broaden students' horizons beyond their major disciplines, and to create an all-around educational experience.

Academic and teaching staff members of E&L are dedicated teachers and active researchers, who have made good contributions to areas including language teaching and learning, special educational needs in the local setting, and creative pedagogical approaches and applications. In line with the University's mission, we have identified Bilingual Learning and Teaching to be our strategic research direction. Our findings make contribution to knowledge creation as well as inform many aspects of our teaching.
