Career

Upon graduation, students will be ready to work in the field of social welfare and community services and to assume administrative and managerial positions in long-term care facilities, senior centres, government offices in ageing at all levels, voluntary and non-governmental organizations, as well as other settings concerned with ageing.

Students will also be ready to serve in professional positions in aged care policy development, health and human services for older clients, and health promotion and community development; in ageing-related social research in government agencies and think-tanks; as well as in social and business enterprises in the private sector.

Graduates will be well-equipped to begin their career as project coordinators or officers, aged care service administrators or managers, research analysts, etc. With working experience accumulated, graduates can advance to higher management levels in aged care services planning, provision and evaluation.

Further Studies

Our programme prepares graduates to further their studies in gerontology, ageing studies, social work, nursing, social policy and social development as well as public policy studies in local and overseas institutions.
