Alumni groups' rights

  • As Affiliated Members of HKMUAA, alumni groups shall have the right to be represented on the Executive Committee of HKMUAA and may send a candidate to run for a seat. Please be reminded that the candidate MUST be an Ordinary Member/Life Ordinary Member of HKMUAA.

Alumni groups' responsibilities

  • By officially forming an alumni group, you have to fulfil the responsibilities listed in the Policies and Guidelines for HKMU Alumni Groups (Chinese version only). For more details, please refer to section 5 of the Policies and Guidelines.
  • The University reserves the right to suspend or terminate the usage of 'Hong Kong Metropolitan University' as part of an alumni group's title if it fails to fulfil any of the responsibilities mentioned in the Policies and Guidelines.

Support from alma mater

The Development and Alumni Affairs Office will support alumni groups by:

  • Publicizing the website link of the alumni groups on various communication channels, offering publicity support for alumni groups' activities (e.g. through the e-newsletter Alumni Linkage) and reserving venues on the HKMU campus for alumni groups' activities.
  • Selective venues and facilities of the University are open to booking by alumni groups for free or at a charge to host University-based and non-personal activities. Application can be submitted via HKMUAA to the University.
