Overview

The Bachelor of Science with Honours in Cyber and Computer Security is a four-year programme aims to equip students with the academic knowledge necessary for a professional in the fields of networking and network security.

The programme covers a range of topics in networking, computer architecture, advanced computer design, communication systems, software development, as well as specialized areas in cyber security, digital forensics, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Cyber security is one of the most frequently cited in-demand skillsets around the world. Graduates of our programme will be equipped with comprehensive knowledge in hardware, software, infrastructure, and professional practices in cyber security. Potential employers include mobile and network services providers, system solutions companies, cyber security consultants, and IT departments of large companies and organizations.

Admission Requirements and Application

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Admission Requirements.

For year 1 entry, student shall have attained in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination:

Level 3 or above in Chinese and English; Level 2 or above in Mathematics , Liberal Studies and an elective subjects.

Students who are intending to sit the HKDSE should apply through JUPASThe JUPAS Code is JS9719.

For year 3 entry, applicants are normally expected to have completed a recognized Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in networking, network security, computer engineering, software engineering or a relevant area. The Programme Code is BSCHCCSJS.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fees payable for each academic year will be determined by the number of credits of the courses taken by a student. A student is normally required to take 40 credits in an academic year.

Scholarships and Grants
Government’s Subsidy Scheme

OUHK's full-time undergraduate programmes (excluding SSSDP and Higher Diploma Programmes) are eligible for this Subsidy Scheme. All eligible local students will be provided with a non-means-tested annual subsidy up to HK$32,100* depending on the number of credits of the courses taken.

Students' eligibility for this Subsidy Scheme is subject to the fulfillment of stipulated requirements set by the Education Bureau (EDB). For details of the scheme and eligible programmes, please visit http://www.cspe.edu.hk/content/nmt-annual-subsidy.

*A student’s eligibility for the NMTSS and the annual subsidy amount allocated in an academic year is subject to EDB’s final approval. The annual subsidy amount of NMTSS for the 2020 – 2021 academic year is HK$32,100.

*Only local students are eligible for subsidy under NMTSS.

OUHK's Entrance Scholarships

The University offers entrance scholarship of $40,000 new students. Successful students may be awarded HK$40,000 again in subsequent years of study, subject to outstanding performance at the OUHK.

A number of donated scholarships are available for students demonstrating academic merit or improvement.
