Elderly Simulation Workshop

Several elderly simulation workshops were organized with Eldpathy, a social enterprise, for students and staff to learn about and experience some of the physical difficulties old people experience in daily life. The participants suit up in an elderly simulation suit and experience three indoor activities:
•“Everything is blur” allows participants to experience how eye disease affects old people in their daily life.
•“The hand challenge” encourages participants to reflect on how problems with arm joints affect the elderly in their daily life.
•“The treasure hunt” guides participants through the painful walk of seniors and reflect on how the degeneration of bones and muscles affects their daily life.
In the workshop, the participants were encouraged to better understand and care for the elderly, and prepare for their own senior years.
