During puberty, self-identification is an essential attribute. Students can be confused on their lives with stresses surrounded. Mr. Louis Huang (Louis), the instructor of psychology of OUHK, has designed a VR video for the positive psychology course. He pointed out that the students are over-stressed and positive psychology will help students to reflect their experience of life, in particular combining the use of VR. Louis explained that the video allowed students to review their growths, and to discuss the possible influential events in their life. After watching the video, students were asked to complete their 'life line' by writing down the life experiences that have influenced and shaped them. “This activity allows them to examine the factors affecting their resilience concretely and look forward to their future,” he said. “We aim to encourage them to apply the theories wand skills of positive psychology in daily life in order to maintain a well-balanced mental health.” The concept in social sciences is abstract, leaners are suggested to understand the theories through experiences. Louis emphasised that VR technology is a valuable tool for promoting experiential learning. The VR video helps students to engage in a holistic perspective, enabling them to feel the changes in their experiences, and provide a forum for reflecting on their everyday life.
