Biography

Dr. Chris Lam is a Lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at HKMU. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science (2025) from Tsinghua University, an MSc with Merit in East Asian Development and Global Economy (2017) from the University of Bristol, and a B.A. in History with First-Class Honours from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2016). Before joining HKMU, Dr. Lam worked at Tsinghua University, City University of Hong Kong, and the College of Professional and Continuing Education at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr. Lam focuses research on international relations and issues related to Hong Kong and Macao, particularly in the areas of economic diplomacy and public policy. He served as a co-investigator for a Public Policy Research Funding Scheme project on talent policy in 2023-2024. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to policy research and youth development, he received the Hong Kong SAR Government Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service in 2023.
