Library Using the Library Spaces for Different Needs Group Study Rooms

Six Group Study Rooms are available in both Stanley Ho Library and Ho Sik Yee Library. These are ideal places for conducting collaborative study, group discussion, or research work inside the Libraries. The Group Study Rooms provide group study tables and chairs, interactive whiteboard and wireless LAN for use by 3 -10 users at the same time. Reservation is required.
When showing films or TV programmes in the Group Study Rooms, users should follow the Guidelines for showing films and TV programmes on campus.

HKMU full-time staff can book the Group Study Room 3 in the Stanley Ho Library, MC, and the Ho Sik Yee Library, JCC for research/teaching purpose during library opening hours, Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays, for a maximum of 2 hours per day.

HKMU full-time staff can book the Group Study Rooms 3 in the Stanley Ho Library, MC, and the Ho Sik Yee Library, JCC, for academic purpose during library opening hours, Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays, for up to 2 hours per day.

HKMU full-time staff, HKMU active full-time students or LiPACE full-time students of eligible programmes who have campus library access privilege.

  • Group Study Rooms are available for booking from 30 minutes after the Library opens until 30 minutes before the Library closes, with each time slot of one hour starting from every half hour, on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • The rooms are for groups of 3 to 10 users.
  • To use the rooms, please make prior bookings. Bookings can be made 3 days in advance.
  • Each user is eligible to book the rooms for up to 2 hours per day.
  • Users who have booked the rooms must present their HKMU ID Cards when claiming the room at the service counter. A minimum of 3 users should be in the room during the booked time slot. After use, users are required to check out at the service counter.
  • Rooms not claimed in within 10 minutes from the start of the session will be forfeited, and the booking will be counted against the booking quota.
  • The Group Study Rooms are strictly for academic purpose only.
  • All users must present their own valid HKMU ID Cards. Using others' Cards / lending Cards to others are strictly prohibited.
  • Bookings are not transferable.
  • Eating and drinking are not permitted in all rooms.
  • No furniture should be moved in/out to/from the rooms.
  • Users must clear their personal belongings and leave the rooms clean after use. Library staff members will remove any personal belongings left behind and no further notice will be given.
  • The Library is not responsible for the security of personal belongings.
  • Any damage of the furniture or fixtures in the rooms should be reported to the Library Service Counter. Otherwise, the users will be held liable for the damage of the equipment/furniture in the rooms.
  • The Library may update or revise the terms of use at any time without further notice.
  • All Library Regulations and Rules are applicable to the Group Study Rooms.

Six Group Study Rooms are set up in both Stanley Ho Library and Ho Sik Yee Library. They are ideal places to conduct collaborative study or group work inside the library environment. The Group Study Rooms provide group study tables and chairs, interactive whiteboard and wireless LAN for use by 3 -10 students at the same time. Prior registration for use is required. User can book the Rooms through the Online Booking System for Amenities (OBSA). Please read the user guidelines before making bookings.
