Overseas Exchange and Study Tours

The School of Arts and Social Sciences is keen to organize overseas study tours and summer exchange programmes for students to broaden their horizons, build international network and develop cultural conscience.   Fully or partial financial supported would be provided for students subject to available funding and the fulfilment of respective criteria of the tours.

Study Tours

Overseas study tours were suspended under the COVID-19 pandemic.  The School will resume the organization of tours when situation allows.  Planned tours include:

  • Art Tour in Japan (Tokyo)
  • ACM SIGGRAPH 2020 Study Tour in Washington D.C.
  • Arts and Cultural Study Tour in Osaka & Kyoto
  • Creative Art Journey to Europe: Explore the Art, Design and Time-based Media in Czech Republic
  • Artistic Journey to Europe: Experience London with Visual Art and Images
  • Creative Art Journey to Americas: Explore the Fine Arts, Creative Design and Curatorial Studies in the USA
  • Animation and Visual Effects Study Tour in London
  • North Korea Study Tour
  • Paris and London Cultural Experience Tour
  • Cultural Trip to Australia
  • Study Tour to Romania
  • Study Tour to South Korea for MACAHTF students

Overseas Summer School Programme

The Department of Social Sciences launched the Overseas Summer School Programme in 2019 and provide financial support for Social Sciences students to travel outside Hong Kong to acquire immersion experiences in international events and participate in overseas summer schools.   It is believed that these experiences would broaden the intellectual horizons, strengthen peer support culture and benefit future career development of students.

Social Sciences Students in Year 2 to 4 with a GPA in the preceding term not less than 2.8 will be eligible to apply.  For details, please visit the relevant Social Sciences departmental webpage.
