Biography

Man Tin's work and research are situated on the borderline between human and machine. He creates digital art with a main focus on digital images, aesthetics, and machine-made art.
 
Offering a new critical approach and methodology to integrating aesthetics, media, and technology, Man Tin's work and research concern topics such as digital replication, evolutionary aesthetics, and the phenomenology of intelligence via imaging technologies such as 3D scanning, machine learning, and computational and digital art.
 
Man Tin graduated from the School of Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong and holds a correspondence Master’s Degree in Media Cultures. He is a media artist, art consultant, curator, and educator. His works have been selected for various events and shows, including the Ars Electronica Festival, Kino Art Festival, PROTOTYP Festival, SidewalkCINEMA Festival, FMT Festival, Dny AI, Brno Creative Days and HK ARTcomics, and have been exhibited internationally in countries such as Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, and the USA. Man is also the founder of PRÉCÉDÉE, a contemporary art space exploring the possibilities of facilitating dialogues with the community through round-the-clock exhibitions.
 
Man Tin is currently a senior lecturer at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University. He is a full member and former executive committee member of the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), committee member of the Young Artists Development Foundation (YADF), member of the Chinese Digital Games Research Association (Chinese DiGRA), Czech Republic Center for Artificial Art Research (CAAR), and Sweden Föreningen Musikspektra T Society (FMT).
