Inaugural Seminar for the series “Chinese Science Fiction in the Digital Age”

The Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities held an inaugural seminar for the series “Chinese Science Fiction in the Digital Age” entitled “從梁啓超《新中國未來記》到劉慈欣《三體》: 二十世紀中國小説的發展” on 9 November 2021, with Prof. Xu Zidong as the guest speaker. Prof. Xu, Honorary Professor of School of Chinese at University of Hong Kong and Zijiang Chair Professor of the East China Normal University, shared his view on the development of Chinese novels in the twentieth century through discussing the literary works from Liang Qichao's The Future Record of New China to Liu Cixin's The Three-Body Problem. The seminar had over 170 participants from the Hong Kong Metropolitan University community and public.
