The first HKMU Festival, organised by the School of Arts and Social Sciences, was held on 22 March 2024 at the Jockey Club Campus. Under the supervision of Professor Octavian Saiu of the School of Arts and Social Sciences, students from different Schools joined forces to conceive and organise a series of exciting arts and cultural programmes, including dance flash mobs, busking, cultural booths, handmade soap and mental wellbeing workshops, Toastmasters Club's debates, mask drawing booths, open dialogues, video games and an evening Talent Show with a theatrical scene, dance battle and singing competition.
The organising committee consisted of 23 students, who showed creativity in sharing ideas, planning each activity, preparing the logistics, and promoting the event through social media platforms and promotional booths. The Festival received an enthusiastic response from numerous students and staff members. All students involved gained a lot of valuable experience in event planning and organisation, providing a joyful and glamorous festival for the entire HKMU community.
