Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics, graduates should be able to:
(a) Explain the nature, focus, areas and methods of economic inquiry;
(b) Explain and evaluate major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings and trends in economics; and
(c) Evaluate the complex relations between theories and practice in economics.

In addition to the learning outcomes for the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics, graduates of the Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Economics programme should be able to:

(d) Discuss and apply economic research methods for investigating both local and global issues; and
(e) Reflect on issues pertinent to, and identify and formulate practical ideas on implementing the knowledge and skills in future career development.
