Study Tour to Seoul, South Korea: Exploring Film/TV Development

Mr. Dan Ip recently organized a six-day study tour titled “Exploring the Film/TV Development in Seoul” for students of the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Writing and Film Arts programme. The tour took place from June 23 to June 28, 2025, providing students with an invaluable opportunity to gain insight into the film, TV, and media industries.

During the tour, students visited three major TV stations—MBC, SBS, and KBS—where they observed live broadcasts of music shows and TV drama rehearsals, gaining insight into the latest trends in television production. The tour also included academic exchange sessions with students from relevant programmes at Korea University and Seoul National University, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and understanding of their facilities.

One of the key highlights was the exploration of four museums and design centres, which allowed students to delve into the intersections of film, television, design, and entertainment. Additionally, they visited six iconic K-drama shooting locations and two libraries, deepening their understanding of South Korea’s vibrant film, television, and creative culture.

This immersive experience provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the media industry, broadening their academic and cultural horizons.
