Background
Thanks for the generous support from Dr Katie Shu Sui-pui, an Honorary Doctor and alumna of HKMU, in establishing the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust – Alumni Mainland Advancement Journey (舒小佩慈善基金 –「校友匯流 – 內地拓展之旅」). This programme is designed to deepen cross-regional understanding, enhance alumni connection, and inspire a spirit of giving among HKMU alumni and students.
This programme is funded by an annual donation of up to HK$2 million from the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust over four academic years (2025/26 – 2028/29).
The programme includes two main components:
(1) Alumni Donation Matching Scheme, and
(2) Annual Mainland Tour
This proposal focuses on the Alumni Donation Matching Scheme, under which the “Turn $1 into $3” Campaign will be introduced to encourage alumni participation and amplify the impact of their giving.
Objective
The “Turn $1 into $3” Campaign aims to inspire alumni to support their alma mater through donations that are matched by the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust.
For every HK$1 contributed by an alumnus/alumna, the Trust will contribute an additional HK$2, effectively tripling the impact of each gift.
The “Turn $1 into $3” Campaign seeks to:

The “Turn $1 into $3” Campaign offers alumni flexible ways to participate in giving, recognising that graduates are at different stages of life, career development, and engagement with HKMU. It is designed to be both a welcoming entry point for first-time donors and a meaningful opportunity for more established alumni to deepen their support, with every contribution amplified through matching by the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust.
