Building on the Alumni Donation Matching Scheme – “Turn $1 to $3” Campaign, Development and Alumni Affairs Office is excited to organise the first alumni outreach activity – HKMU Alumni Chongqing Exchange Tour. Generously sponsored by the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust (the Trust), this tour offers a valuable opportunity for alumni to explore the natural and cultural charm of Chongqing while fostering connections and collaboration.

This 4-day 3-night exchange tour will take place in June 2026. Alumni will experience Chongqing's breathtaking landscapes, visit its thriving industrial and cultural districts, and tour enterprises of various scales, broadening their horizons and gaining insights into the latest developments. Alumni are cordially invited to join this unique journey. Details are as follows:

HKMU Alumni Chongqing Exchange Tour

Date: 14 – 17 June 2026 (Sunday – Wednesday)

Location: Chongqing, China

Itinerary: – Visit Chongqing Industrial Culture Expo Park & renowned enterprises (TBC)

            - Explore Hongyadong, Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, and experience the Liziba monorail through a building, etc.

Participants: HKMU Alumni Association (HKMUAA) Ordinary Member 1

Fee: HK$2,900 per person 2 (after a half-cost sponsorship from the Trust)

Quota: 20 pax [First come, first served!]

This March, Development and Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO) launched the Alumni Donation Matching Scheme – “Turn $1 to $3” Campaign, with the aim of bringing together the collective strength of our alumni to enrich alumni engagement initiatives. To put this support into action, DAAO is pleased to introduce our first alumni outreach activity – HKMU Alumni Chongqing Exchange Tour.

With the generous sponsorship of the Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust (the Trust), we warmly invite you to join this 4-day 3-night exchange tour in June 2026. Together, we will explore Chongqing's breathtaking landscapes, visit its thriving industrial and cultural districts, and tour enterprises of various scales, broadening their horizons and gaining insights into the latest developments.

HK$2,900 per person

(Subsidised by the Trust at 50% of the total cost. Please arrange your own travel insurance.)

Event Terms and Conditions

  1. Event Formation and Cancellation
    a. HKMU Alumni Chongqing Exchange Tour (the Tour) is subject to whether the final registration number meets the tour formation condition.
    b. If the Tour cannot be formed due to insufficient participants, Development and Alumni Affairs Office (“DAAO” hereinafter) will inform the participants, and will arrange full refund of paid fees. However, DAAO is not responsible for any additional loss.

    c. Once the Tour has been formed and the registration has been completed, all paid fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  
  2. Items Included in the Registration Fee
    a. The registration fee included round-trip economy-class group air ticket fees, airport taxes, airport construction fees, air ticket surcharges, coach fee, attraction fee within the itinerary, meals, accommodation with daily breakfast (twin rooms), service charges and tips for Hong Kong tour escort(s), local tour guide(s) and driver(s).
    b. The fee also covered a 0.15% stamp duty by Hong Kong Travel Industry Authority, group travel insurance (highest amount of indemnity: HK$300,000) and Blue Cross Mainland China Plan.
  3. Items Not Included in the Registration Fee
    a. The registration fee does not include all expenses outside the itinerary (such as attraction fees, extra admission fees, extra transportation fees, special pick-up drop-off services, overtime charges), all personal expenses (such as laundry fees, mobile data fees, internet fees, shopping expenses, personal travel insurance fees), extra single room surcharges, transportation fees of self-returning to Hong Kong, and other fees (such as insurance, accommodation, meals).
    b. Participants must ensure the validity of their travel document(s) and visa, such as Home Return Permits and Passports, if necessary. Participants are responsible for the relevant fees.

    c. Participants are recommended to purchase personal integrated travel insurance themselves for a more comprehensive protection (such as travel delays, losses to property, and medical support). 
  4. Travel Document(s) and Registration Information
    a. Participants must provide the exact name displayed on their travel document(s). If participants are unable to board or participate the Tour due to discrepancies in their information, participants will bear the losses themselves. 
    b. Participants must register with valid travel document(s), and documents(s) needed for visa(s), if necessary. The travel document(s) must have at least 6 months of validity, counting from the day of departure. 
  5. Itinerary Changes and Special Circumstances
    a. In case of adverse weather conditions, natural hazards, sudden pandemics, political situations or other force majeure factors, DAAO reserves the right to discuss with the travel agency for changing the date, shortening or adjusting the travel. 
  6. DAAO reserves the right to take photos, videos, or recordings in other forms, of participants and their artworks, during the event, and use them for university promotion and any legitimate purpose without prior approval of participants or provision of any reward.
  7. Registration Notification
    a. Successful registrants will receive notification on or before 1 June 2026 (Monday). 
  8. Disclaimer
    a. By participating in this event, participants acknowledge, agree to, and are bound by the terms and conditions.
    b. Participants must assess whether they are capable of joining the relevant itinerary, and take care of their own safety. 
    c. DAAO reserves the right to amend, remove or supplement the terms and conditions. In the event of any disputes, the decision of DAAO shall be final.
    d. In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions of the terms and conditions, the Chinese version will prevail.

The registration fee includes air ticket fees, airport taxes, airport construction fees, air ticket surcharges, coach fee, attraction fee within the itinerary, meals, accommodation with daily breakfasts (double rooms), service charges and tips for Hong Kong tour escorts, local tour guides and drivers, group travel insurance (highest amount of indemnity: HK$300,000) and Blue Cross Mainland China Plan, as well as a 0.15% stamp duty by Hong Kong Travel Industry Authority.

The registration fee does not include all expenses outside the itinerary (such as attraction fee, extra admission fee, extra transportation fee, special pick-up drop-off service, overtime fee), all personal expenses (such as laundry fee, mobile data fee, shopping expenses, personal travel insurance fee), extra single-person room fee, transportation fee of self-returning to Hong Kong, other expenses (such as insurance, accommodation, meals), and travel documents and visa fees (if necessary). 

6. If the tour cannot commence due to any circumstances, such as weather conditions, pandemic, or last-minute withdrawal of participating alumni, we will discuss with the travel agency for the new tour date, change participants and arrangements that cause minimal impact.

7. DAAO reserves the right to take photos, videos, or recordings in other forms, of participants and their artworks, during the event, and use them for university promotion and any legitimate purpose without prior approval of participants or provision of any reward.

8. During registration, it is required to provide the correct name displayed on travel documents.

9. All travel documents are required to be valid for at least 6 months.

10. Successful participants will be notified on or before 1 June 2026 (Monday).

11. DAAO reserves the right to amend the above information without prior notice. In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions of the terms and conditions, the Chinese version will prevail.

12. By participating in this event, participants acknowledge, agree to, and are bound by the terms and conditions.
