You are strongly advised to have already studied ECON A231 and ECON A232.

Aims
This course aims to provide a broad and systematic discussion of the theories and practices of the major issues of international finance, and their relevance to the local and global economy.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • International financial markets and exchange rate determination
  • Money, income and balance of payments
  • Exchange rate regime
  • International macroeconomic policy coordination

Learning support
There will be six tutorials.

Assessment
There are two assignments and a final examination. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
