Aims
The course aims to enhance students' ability to fully engage with business and management theories and their applications in a real world context.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Overview of management initiatives
  • Identification of managerial problems or opportunities
  • Review of business and management theories
  • Collection and analysis of research information
  • Ethical issues associated with management initiatives
  • Evaluation of the impact or effectiveness of management initiatives
  • Writing and orally presenting a complete applied business project report

Learning support
There will be five three-hour tutorials and two six-hour day schools.

Assessment
There are four individual assignments and a compulsory individual oral presentation. Students must use Microsoft Word to prepare the assignments and submit the assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
