Creative Arts faculty and students produce animated video for Government summit

Ten faculty members, students and graduates from the Department of Creative Arts unleashed their creativity by producing an animated video for the Wealth for Good in Hong Kong Summit, organised by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau. Echoing the Summit's theme, “Hong Kong of the World, for the World”, the video employed 3D animation techniques and blended modern and traditional elements to guide participants through scenes like the Web3 universe and an art auction, introducing the topics featured in the Summit, such as innovation, technology, sustainable investment and philanthropy.

Film scripted by alumna showcased at film festivals

Alumna Sabrina Tse Shuk-fun adapted a novel she wrote into a film, serving as both producer and screenwriter. The film, True Love, for Once in My Life, was shortlisted in the Hidden Dragon section of the 8th Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival. It was also selected as one of the films in the “Made in HK” section of the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival 2024 and as the opening film at the Hong Kong Film Gala Presentation in Dubai. The University organised a film screening for students and alumni on 12 April, with Sabrina, director Siu Koon-ho and co-screenwriter Lou Shiu-Wa invited to share their experience of producing the film.

Gold at the HK2A ESG Marketing Excellence Award

Four students from the Creative Advertising and Media Design programme, Cheung Ho-yik, Lau Chung-yee, Li Tsun-lok and Luo Meizhen, teamed up to participate in the HK2A ESG Marketing Excellence Award 2024 and won a Gold Award in the Student Division with their advertising campaign on the theme “Hong Kong timber is given a new life”.

Triumph in the international poster contest

Icarus Wang Peng, from the Creative Advertising and Media Design programme, took his creative artworks to the International Taiwan Postar Award 2024. Under the competition theme “Embracing Differences”, one of his artworks, “Music Unites Us”, won the Gold Award and a cash prize of NTD30,000.
