Who can access

OUHK WLAN is primarily implemented for providing services to following roles of users :

• staff / tutors whom possess a valid OUHK email account and also have created own Single Password
• students whom have enrolled course at current semester and also have created own Single Password
• alumni whom have created own Single Password

In addition to above provision,  OUHK has collaborated with CSL Wi-Fi so that OUHK users can login back to the University via widespread CSL's public access points throughout Hong Kong.  This agreement tremendously increases number of Wi-Fi access points for OUHK users. 

To provide authentication depends on different role, scenario and security level, user will choose the appropriate SSID to access the Wi-Fi infrastructure

Locations

Wireless LAN (WLAN) is currently available within OUHK campus which includes Homantin main campus, Jubilee College, Kwai Hing Learning Centre and OUHK-CITA Learning Centre (Lai king). Outside campus, OUHK users can also access the WLAN via some specified public points established by collaborated educational institutions and Wi-Fi service providers

A.   Within OUHK campus

All locations support 802.11a (54Mbps), 802.11g (54Mbps) and 802.11n (300/450Mbps) standard. Auditorium and some select locations also support 802.11ac standard.
