The Web Care Award is an important event of the Web Care Campaign initiated by the Internet Professionals Association (iProA), with full support from the Hong Kong SAR Government and other communities such as Information Technology Services Department (ITSD), Home Affairs Department, Equal Opportunities Commission, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, Hong Kong Seniors IT Advocates and The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, to name a few.
Objectives of the Award is to bridge digital divide so that everyone has an equal opportunity in enjoyment of benefits brought about by advanced information technology; and to recognise and promote no barrier websites to the public, especially the needy communities.
The OUHK is one of the three university winners among a total of 26 organizations presented the award.
