De-registration and Late Registration

De-registration

If students fail to settle tuition fees payment by the deadline and have not applied for late payment of tuition fees, they will be de-registered from their studies at the University. Any academic work done by the students in the academic term concerned will not be recognized by the University.

Students de-registered before the resit examination is held will not be permitted/eligible to attend the resit examination. If students are de-registered after receiving a 'Fail-Resit' or 'Exam-deferred' result status for any undergraduate course(s), the course grade(s) concerned will be converted to 'Fail'.

Late Registration

If students fail to pay tuition fees by the deadline and have not applied for late payment of tuition fees, regardless of whether they have been de-registered or not, they are required to apply for ‘Late Registration’ if they wish to continue with their studies in the term.

Application for late registration should be submitted via online form by the stipulated deadline of each term. During the application, students will be required to settle a non-refundable ‘Late Registration Charge’, as prescribed by the University from time to time.

The reinstatement of studentship is subject to the absolute discretion of the University, the availability of places in the programme, the reason(s) for application, the full payment of all outstanding fees and the late registration charge. The application result will be announced by email.

Students approved for late registration after being de-registered are reminded that:

  • The University will not recognize any academic work done by you during the de-registration period.
  • Though your late registration is approved, you are not allowed to re-submit any assignment, project or re-do the quiz, presentation, etc., if you missed the submission deadline.
  • The University will not arrange any make-up examination and class for you if you failed to attend due to de-registration.
