34th HKMU Congregation

The 34^th Congregation of Hong Kong Metropolitan University will be held from 29-31 July 2024 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Wan Chai.

The Congregation invitation have been sent to graduates of Full-time Undergraduate programmes, Taught Postgraduate programmes (face-to-face mode) and Research programmes (March & July conferment) by email. If you wish to attend the Congregation, please complete your online confirmation through MyHKMU (go to www.hkmu.edu.hk → Current Students → login to “MyHKMU” → My Programme → (your graduation plan) → Academic → Graduation → Congregation → Confirmation for attending Congregation) before 27 May 2024. If you are not attending the ceremony but wish to hire an academic gown, you should indicate your intention via the online confirmation. Late submission will not be entertained.

Upon receiving your confirmation of attendance for the Congregation, the University will send the admission tickets together with the gown rental information to you by post in late June. If you opt not attending the ceremony but wish to hire an academic gown, you will only receive the gown rental information. To ensure that you will receive the tickets and documents about the Congregation from the University, please update your correspondence via MyHKMU (My Programme > “Your Graduation Programme Code” > Academic > Student Records > Personal Information). Documents will NOT be re-issued again because of obsolete mailing addresses.

Gown Rental Information

Gown Hiring Procedures

For graduates wishing to hire an academic gown, you are required to submit your confirmation of gown rental via the Student Portal “MyHKMU” before the stipulated deadline.
The University will send you the “Gown Rental letter” with a login ID and instructions for reserving of your academic gown via post by late June 2024.
Make your online gown rental reservation with a login code at the website of Victoria Uniform from 28 June to 31 July 2024.
Select if you would like to collect the gown in person at Victoria Uniform's rental outlet or have the gown delivered*. (*Graduate will have to pay for the delivery charge)
Print 2 copies of the “Academic Regalia Rental Service – Gown Rental & Deposit Form” at the end of the online reservation.
Collect your gown at the selected Victoria Uniform's rental outlet with the following items:

(i) “Gown Rental letter”,

(ii) 2 copies of the “Academic Regalia Rental Service – Gown Rental & Deposit Form”, and

(iii) deposit in cash(HK$) (all other forms of payment method will not be accepted)

*Rental charge is waived by presenting the Gown Rental letter.

^{^}Extension fee, if any, will be deducted from the deposit. If the extension is less than 7 days, it will be counted as a 7-day charge, and the maximum extension fee will be limited to the amount of deposit.

Important Notes

If gown hiring requests have been made, graduates are required to arrange their gown collection from Victoria Uniform before the Congregation. Gowns will NOT be provided on-site during the Congregation.
Graduates are strongly advised to collect your gown at the Victoria Uniform's rental outlet you have selected as stock may not be available at other outlet.
Graduates are required to collect and return the gown at the same rental outlet.
Gown deposit must be paid in cash (HK$) at the rental outlet when collecting the gown.
Graduates will have to pay the rental fee charged by the vendor Victoria Uniform if they fail to present the “Gown Rental letter” when collecting gown.

HKMU Congregation

The University will hold two Congregations each year – the Summer Congregation and the Winter Congregation.

For 2024, the Summer Congregation will be held in July, while the Winter Congregation will be held during the fourth quarter of this year. Graduates will receive an invitation to attend a Congregation based on their programme type and conferment date. Please find the details below:

Summer Congregation
