Director's Message

Shenzhen Research Institute Director's Message

Welcome to the HKMU Shenzhen Research Institute – where theory meets transformation, and ideas become impact

Welcome to Hong Kong Metropolitan University Shenzhen Research Institute (HKMU SZRI). As we embark on this transformative journey, I am honored to lead an institute that stands at the intersection of innovation, collaboration, and societal impact.

HKMU SZRI is more than a research institute — it is a platform for bold ideas, interdisciplinary exploration, and meaningful partnerships. Our presence in the Shenzhen Virtual University Park (SZVUP) reflects our commitment to bridging boundaries, whether between academia and industry, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, or science and society. We are not just conducting research; we are building bridges that connect talent, ideas, and resources across borders. We are here to create solutions that not only address today's challenges but also anticipate people's needs for tomorrow.

What excites me the most is its ability to inspire change. From advancing healthcare through artificial intelligence to pioneering environmental research that safeguards our planet, we are driven by a shared purpose: to make a tangible difference. Our focus on cutting-edge fields such as “Biomedical Life Science”, “Net Zero and Environmental Technologies”, “Quantum Technology” and “Digital Fabrication and Art-Tech” reflects our belief in the power of creativity and innovation to shape the future.

As we move forward, I invite you to collaborate with us in realising our vision. Whether you are a researcher, an entrepreneur, or a policymaker, your expertise and insights are integral to our success. Together, we can turn possibilities into realities and create a legacy of progress that benefits generations to come.

Thank you for your trust and support. Let's innovate, integrate, and inspire — together.
