Title:  Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and their Applications in Higher Education 

Abstract: 

The seminar will be delivered in a combined format of keynote presentation followed by hands-on demonstrations. It will begin with the keynote titled “Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence Technologies and Their Applications in Higher Education,” which will introduce cutting-edge developments in AI and highlight practical initiatives undertaken by universities in Chinese Mainland in leveraging technology for talent development, pedagogical innovation, research empowerment, and faculty advancement. The hands-on demonstration session will center on the theme “Empowering Higher Education Teaching with Artificial Intelligence.” Through live demonstrations of general-purpose Large Language Models and a diverse suite of AI tools, participants will gain first-hand experience of AI's transformative potential in teaching, learning, and research. The session aims to support educators in translating these insights into dynamic, real-world educational practices.

Yanhua Zhang is a Senior Researcher at iFLYTEK's Institute of Smart Higher Education. She has long focused on redefining the foundational logic of the entire higher education ecosystem—encompassing teaching, learning, administration, and assessment—through artificial intelligence, as well as on pioneering educational practices such as personalized learning powered by Large Language Models. She has played a key role in numerous university-led initiatives that harness AI to drive pedagogical reform and cultivate innovative talent for the digital era.
