On June 21, 2025, the V-Power Volunteer Team participated in the “Service and Training Day Supporting the Visually Impaired” event organized by the Hong Kong Blind Union. On that day, V-Power members first took part in a basic training on how to take care of the visually impaired, gaining deeper insight into the challenges they face in daily life.

Under the guidance of the event coordinators, V-Power members learned the “sighted guide technique”—a safe and effective method for guiding visually impaired individuals. They then engaged in practical exercises to prepare themselves for the following service later.

After the training, V-Power members headed to Ho Man Tin MTR Station to meet a group of visually impaired individuals. They then accompanied them to the supermarket in Oi Man Plaza to assist them in purchasing daily necessities. In the narrow aisles of the supermarket, the volunteers applied the “sighted guide technique” they had learned, carefully guiding the visually impaired individuals in selecting the items they needed, ensuring they could shop with ease and confidence.

At the end of the event, the visually impaired participants expressed their gratitude to the V-Power members. They shared that they rarely have the opportunity to personally shop at a supermarket, and this event not only made them feel the care and support of the community but also brought great convenience and joy to their daily lives.
