Dr Elim MAN [MD(Res), FHKCPaed, FHKAM Paediatrics, FRCPCH, FHEA] is an Associate Consultant of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Associate Director of the Simulation Training Centre at Hong Kong Children's Hospital, Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor (Paediatrics) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Honorary Clinical Associate Professor (Paediatrics) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and a Falcon member of the Hospital Authority Special Duty Cadre (HASDC).
Dr MAN is a dedicated educator in simulation-based medical education with special interests in simulation learning development and strategies to enhance healthcare quality and patient safety. She is a fellow of the Advanced Higher Education Academy for Teaching and Learning (UK), college trainer (HKCPaed), trained instructor and debriefer for clinical simulations (HKAM JCIMED), Basic Life Support (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation (AAP), Neonatal Lung Ultrasound (SHSC Manitoba) and Cardiac POCUS (CNPOCUS) programs. Her publications in peer-reviewed journals include POCUS and targeted echocardiography applications in healthcare.
Dr MAN has extensive experience in teaching and co-directing clinical simulation training programs for medical students, interns, nurses, doctors, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, including assistant internship simulations (CUHK/HKU), HA central intern clinical skills simulations, neonatal and paediatric POCUS, echocardiography, electrocardiography and ventilation therapy simulations, sedation safety training, NRP and BLS courses. She has also delivered numerous simulation workshops and educational talks for healthcare professionals at international, cross-border and local seminars including Mainland China, Asia-Pacific regions, Canada and North America over the years. Her teaching philosophy is to nurture learners' attitude in inquiry for new knowledge and link professional values up with social values for applications.
