The RDC shall determine the date of commencement of study. For PhD and MPhil programmes, the date shall normally be the term commencement date of the Autumn or Spring term after the date of approval of the application by the RDC and after payment of all fees due. For other research postgraduate programmes involving coursework, the date of commencement of study shall normally be the term commencement date of the Autumn term.

* Year 1 in the table refers to the year in which thesis supervision commences. Students taking up taught courses during coursework stage of Doctoral degrees have to pay the relevant course fees separately.
The above tuition fees (per annum) are indicative only and are subject to a yearly review. Please note that all fees paid will not be refunded.
The Research Postgraduate Team of the Registry will send reminders to students for the payment of tuition fee for their research degrees. Starting from 2022/23 academic year (i.e. from 2022 Autumn term onwards), tuition fees will be collected on a per term basis, prior to the Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms, during which the research studies are in progress.
