Residence Peer Assistant Scheme

Be a leader. Build community. Make a difference.

The Residence Peer Assistant (RPA) Scheme aims to recruit senior local students who demonstrate strong interest and potential to be trained as peer leaders. Through structured training and ongoing support, RPAs will play a key role in fostering a supportive, inclusive and educational hall environment, particularly in assisting first-year students in adapting to university and hall life at HKMU, as well as to life in Hong Kong under the hall-based residential education system.
These RPAs work alongside the Live-in Management Team, comprising a Warden, an Assistant Warden, and Residence Tutors, and the Student Affairs Office (SAO) to foster a supportive and inclusive hall community.
The objectives of the Scheme are:
  1. Promote belonging among non-local and local students through inclusive hall programming;
  2. Accelerate non-local freshmen’s adaptation to Hong Kong life and the HKMU environment;
  3. Strengthen safety and harmony in MU88 by providing social support and delivering residential education;
  4. Equip RPAs with competencies in coaching, communication and intercultural intelligence.
