Motto: Make all-out effort in everything. Seize the chance when it comes.

Chan Chui Ki enjoys conducting tests and experiments in laboratories. Equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work in the testing and certification industry at HKMU, she wishes to be a researcher in the future.

“I worked as an intern for eight weeks at a commercial lab this summer to do water quality testing, in which I put what I have learnt into practice. I did experiments every day and had great fun!” Chan says.

Chan loves what she is studying and performs very well in her study. She has been placed on the Dean's List for times and earned several scholarships. She is grateful for the recognition. “I feel a sense of achievement, which motivates me to work harder.”

She faces up to her weakness, on the other hand. “I am not good at speaking and engaging people in conversation. So I participate in co-curricular activities to meet different people and try things beyond my comfort zone.”

In this spring, Chan acted as a Design Thinking Ambassador in a STEM-focused social innovation programme for junior secondary students to transform Kowloon East into a pioneer smart city in Hong Kong, co-organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong and J.P. Morgan. Through collaborating with J.P. Morgan volunteers to support and mentor secondary students, Chan has brushed up her interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. “I can tell my improvements while doing my internship. I will continue to make an effort to make progress,” she says.
