Application for MU88 in AY2026/27
(Inbound Exchange Students)

Inbound exchange students who will study at Hong Kong Metropolitan University in the 2026/27 academic year are eligible to apply for MU88. 

Due to the limited number of residential places and in order to make more effective use of resources, the University will prioritise allocating places to full‑year exchange students. Term‑based exchange students are advised to arrange their own accommodation off campus. For more deatils, please refer to the Self-arrange Accommodation page

Successful applicants should take note of the terms and conditions and must accept the offer by submitting the acceptance letter and paying a full accommodation fee and deposit by stupilated deadline.  Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the offer.

MU88 offers a variety of single, double, and triple room types, each with its own corresponding fee. To ensure fairness, residents are assigned to their rooms through a randomized allocation process based on the room type they have been designated. Students who have accepted their offer and paid the deposit will be given an opportunity to participate in the roommate matching process. Further details will be announced at a later time.

If someone has rejected the offer, you will be notified by email by 4 August 2026​ when a bed place is available.

  1. Application approval is at the University's sole and absolute discretion and subject to the availability of bed places. Submission of the application form does not create any entitlement to, or guarantee of, an offer of accommodation.
  2. As bunk-beds are provided in certain room types, the University may take into account the physical characteristics of successful applicants when determining bed allocation. Accordingly, applicants are required to provide information regarding their height and weight, which is necessary for the purpose of assessing and assigning appropriate bed positions. Applicants must ensure that all information provided for bed allocation is true, complete and accurate. Any request to change bed position arising from inaccurate or incomplete information may be refused, and the University may, at its sole discretion, revoke or withdraw the offer.
  3. Hall fees shall NOT be refundable or transferable under any circumstances, including but not limited to the HKSAR Government's policies, undesirable roommate matching, withdrawal of study from the University and change of learning and teaching arrangements.
  4. Residents must be active full-time undergraduate non-local students in AY2026/27. If a resident becomes inactive/ suspended in student status or he/she has withdrawn from his/her studies during the residential period, he/she will not be eligible to reside in MU88 and should check out immediately. However, all fees paid except deposit, after deducting any restitution cost incurred, will not be refunded.
  5. Residents shall commit to staying at the bed places designated by the University at MU88 for the whole residential period as stated in the application form.
  6. MU88 has laid down rules and regulations to ensure the health and safety of the residents and security in MU88. All successful applicants must agree to abide by the rules and regulations upon accepting the offer.
  7. In case of serious breach of any rules or regulations, the concerned resident's hall offer may be terminated immediately without any refund of hall fee. The University reserves the right to reallocate the vacated bed place afterwards.
