Peer Mentorship Scheme

Peer Mentorship Scheme (PMS) aims to recruit passionate senior-year students to serve as Peer Mentors, supporting mentees (non-local full-time undergraduate freshmen) as they adapt to university life and living in Hong Kong. Acting as senior peers, Peer Mentors will guide mentees to integrate into HKMU and their new environment more smoothly.

The objectives of the Scheme are:

Support non-local freshmen in adapting to a new environment through the guidance of Peer Mentors;
Strengthen non-local freshmen's sense of belonging to HKMU through meaningful mentor–mentee connection;
Provide suggestions and resources to help non-local freshmen overcome various challenges;
Foster an inclusive, diverse and welcoming campus environment

Provide logistics and on-site support to a series of Orientation events;
Assist in large-scale and small-group events organised by SAO, offering non-local freshmen opportunities to explore the University and Hong Kong
Follow up on mentees' adjustment progress and offer necessary assistance when needed
Promote cultural and language exchange between local and non-local students

Be full-time undergraduate students not in Year 1 in AY2026/27 (Both local and non-local students are eligible)
Demonstrate passion and a strong sense of responsibility
Be willing to make a positive impact on others
Possess good communication skills in English, Cantonese and Putonghua

Certificates of Professional Training(where applicable)
Award Certificate upon completion of the Scheme
Nomination for Internship/ Scholarship (for outstanding performers only)
Outstanding mentors may be promoted to Senior Peer Mentors
