HKMU students who wish to:
- establish a new student society registered under HKMU Students’ Union.
- apply registration for any past student society without an active cabinet in 2025/26.
Eligibility of an office-bearer:
- All the office-bearers should be active students studying one or more credit-bearing courses in HKMU and have relevant expertise / experience / interest in the area/ activities proposed where applicable.
- For school-based student societies, the office-bearers should be the students from the specific school; For programme-related-societies, a minimum of 50% of the office-bearers must be students from the related programme. The final decision rests on the agreement between the relevant school / programme and the SAO.
The following criteria, among others, will be considered for any applications for registration:
- General benefit to students, the University and the community;
- Relevance and reasonableness of a society’ s constitution / memorandum / activities;
- The society complies with existing University objectives and regulations;
- Membership is not restricted to a designated group/ or groups of students and all active students should be included as potential members;
- The interests and objectives are clearly distinct from those of other student societies.
