The resident(s) concerned will be requested to bear the cost of repair/replacement, subject to the SAO's assessment in consultation with FMO.

The penalty fee list will be provided upon check-in.

Improper check-out

Penalty will apply for improper move-out, including but not limited to late check-out, leaving unwanted items, and picking up of personal belongings after the designated check-out date.

Late check-out penalty

There will be a per-day late penalty on top of the normal daily rate.

Hall application must be submitted ONLINE by 19 April 2026 (23:59).

Successful applicants must carefully and thoroughly review the Terms and Conditions, submit the acceptance letter, and pay the hall fee and deposit in full by the stipulated deadline. Failure to do so will result in recovery of the offer.

MU88 offers a variety of single, double, and triple room types, each with its own corresponding hall fee. To ensure fairness, residents are assigned to their rooms through a randomised allocation process based on the room type they are assigned. Students who have accepted their offer and paid the deposit will be given an opportunity to participate in the roommate matching process. Further details will be announced at a later time.

When vacancies arise, applicants on the waiting list will be notified by email by 3 May 2026.

  1. Application approval is subject to the availability of bed places. Submission of the application form does not guarantee an offer.
  2. As bunk-beds are the prevailing provision in some room types, assignment to the upper or lower bed will take into consideration the physique of successful applicants. Subsequently, information of height and weight will be collected for the bed assignment purpose.
  3. Hall fees shall NOT be refundable or transferrable under any circumstances, including but not limited to the HKSAR Government's policies against the pandemic, undesirable roommate matching, withdrawal of study from the University and change of learning and teaching arrangements.
  4. Renovation & Contingency Disclaimer:

MU88 is currently undergoing renovation and is pending the statutory approvals and occupation permits.

 

a. The "Scheduled Check-in Date" (21 August 2026) is an estimate only and is not a guaranteed date.

b. The University reserves the right to postpone the check-in date or adjust the residential period in the event of renovation delays, government approval delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.

c. The University shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage, cost, or expense (including but not limited to alternative accommodation costs, storage fees, or transportation expenses) incurred by the applicant or any third party arising from any delay in the availability of MU88.

  1. The assignment of bed places for successful applicants will be at the sole discretion of SAO.
  2. Residents must be active full-time undergraduate non-local students or incoming exchange students in AY2026/27. If a resident becomes inactive/ suspended in student status or he/she has withdrawn from his/her studies during the residential period, he/she will not be eligible to reside in MU88 and should check out immediately. However, all fees paid except deposit, after deducting any restitution cost incurred, will not be refunded.
  3. Residents shall commit to staying in MU88 for the whole residential period as stated in the application form.
  4. MU88 has laid down rules and regulations to ensure the health and safety of the residents and security in MU88. All successful applicants must agree to abide by the rules and regulations upon accepting the offer.
  5. In case of serious breach of any rules or regulations, the concerned resident's hall offer may be terminated immediately without any refund of hall fee. The University reserves the right to reallocate the vacated bed place afterwards.
