According to the Education Bureau (EDB), non-local students are defined as students holding:

  1. Student visa/entry permit

  2. Visa/entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates

  3. Dependent visa/entry permit (for students who were 18 years old or above when they were issued with such visa/entry permit by the Director of Immigration)

21 Aug 2026 to 31 Jul 2027 (noon)

Autumn & Spring Term only:

21 Aug 2026 to 20 May 2027 (noon)

Bed place allocation is subject to availability and the final readiness of the MU88 premises. If the number of applications exceeds the available places, or if renovation progress limits the number of available rooms by the scheduled check-in date, bed places will be allocated on a random basis or prioritised at the University’s discretion.

  • SAO will send the roommate matching form to successful applicants in due course. Nominated roommates will only be paired in the same gender room, and such pairing must be mutually agreed.
  • SAO will make every effort to match students with similar lifestyle habits (such as sleep schedules, noise tolerance, etc.) and will strive to accommodate requests whenever possible; however, there is no guarantee that preferred/nominated roommates will be paired.
