About Congregation

No.  Certificates have already been distributed to March and August 2022 graduates. If you haven't collected it, you may collect it in person from the Advanced Standing & Graduation Team at the Registry counter during office hours. For October 2022 graduates, please refer to the Schedule for Collection of Certificate.

Normally it is expected to last for about 1 hour.
As an expression of respect for all graduates, please remain in your seat throughout the ceremony and do not leave the Arena until the end of the ceremony.

Graduates should arrive and be seated inside the venue 45 minutes before the ceremony starts. They should have put on the academic dress for pre-Congregation briefing.

Guests should arrive at the venue 20 minutes before the ceremony.

Since the venue has adopted precautionary measures for the health and safety of venue users, please note that all venue users/audiences are required to put on their own masks, comply with the requirement of the Vaccine Pass and scan the “LeaveHomeSafe” QR code before entering the venue.  For details, please click here.

Please allow sufficient time for transportation and be punctual. Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter the venue until an appropriate time.

Graduates will be presented individually on stage.

The University has arranged professional photographers to take photographs during the Ceremony. To avoid interrupting the process of the ceremony, graduates are not allowed to leave their seats for taking photographs during the Ceremony.

The Congregation is a formal university event.  Casual wears like jeans, T-shirt, flip-flops and trainers are not appropriate for attending the ceremony.

About Academic Dress

You are required to complete the online gown reservation procedures from 4 – 30  November 2022 at the website of the vendor, i.e. Victoria Uniform (www.victoriauniform.com).  Please refer to the letter (which will be sent to your postal address) for login ID and online reservation details.

If gown hiring requests have been made, graduates are required to arrange their gown collection from 4 – 30 November 2022.

The gown rental period is on a 35-day basis, counting from the date of collection.  You are required to pay for the deposit in cash (HKD$) at the time of gown collection and the gown deposit will be refunded to you in cash (HKD$) by Victoria Uniform at the rental outlet if all items are returned on time and in good condition.

Rental fee will be waived by presenting the Gown Rental letter.

Yes, you can extend the rental period by paying an extension fee.  For details, please visit the website of the vendor, i.e. Victoria Uniform (www.victoriauniform.com).

You can make purchase with the vendor.  Or you may tailor your own academic gown based on the discipline color and style for the appropriate level of award.

No. Gowns rental will NOT be provided on-site during the Congregation.

Congregation Admission Tickets

You should contact the Advanced Standing & Graduation Team immediately if you lost the admission ticket.

(Note: Admission ticket is required for entering the venue.)

There are marked seat for Graduates. However, free seating for their guests.

No, late request will not be entertained after the deadline.

Amendment of attendance of Congregation can be made by sending an email to the Advanced Standing & Graduation Team reggrad@hkmu.edu.hk before the deadline.
Amendment made after the deadline will NOT be accepted.

If you have completed the confirmation and included your personal email address via MyHKMU, you will receive an acknowledge email. You can also review your submission record by login to MyHKMU before the deadline.

Venue Facility

As there is no parking facility at the venue, public transportation is recommended.
