Prof. Kenneth LEUNG Mei-yee, JP, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at City University of Hong Kong

Prof. Kenneth Leung Mei-yee, Dean of the School of Energy and Environment and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution at City University of Hong Kong, was invited as guest speaker for the second “Talk of the Metropolis” this year to introduce his innovative eco-engineering projects to build eco-shorelines under the topic “Creating Living Shorelines through Ecological Engineering”. Prof. Leung and his team have been applying ecological principles to design eco-friendly structures to provide shades, water retention and shelters in the seawalls, greatly increasing the diversity of coastal habitats and promoting the development of coastal ecosystems.
