About Us

This project aims to create a vibrant and adaptive community of practice to benefit from free and online tools, especially the emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowered ones, in their teaching and learning practices in Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) and other self-financing tertiary education institutions. This community will be a collaborative space for educators and learners, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to effectively integrate free and online technologies into their teaching and learning processes.
The project starts with a needs assessment to identify HKMU students' and staff's requirements, guiding the development of a user-friendly platform for open educational tools. The platform will serve as a central hub for accessing and utilizing open educational tools and related resources, ensuring that these technologies are readily available and easily navigable.

Training sessions will equip users with skills to apply AI tools effectively, enhancing teaching practices and supports student learning. Knowledge sharing will be fostered through workshops, webinars, and forums. These events will encourage participants to share their experiences, insights, and best practices. Ongoing support via an AI chatbot and updated project website will ensure sustainability.

Finally, the project will be subject to rigorous evaluations to measure its impact and effectiveness. These evaluations will assess various aspects, including the enhancement of digital literacy among participants, the enrichment of the educational experience, and the overall improvement in the quality of teaching and learning. The insights gained from these evaluations will be used to refine the project's strategies and ensure its continued relevance and success.
