Introduction

The programme is founded on the philosophy that life and death are interconnected, and that quality of life should be preserved and valued even in the face of life-limiting illness. Palliative care focuses on enhancing quality of life for individuals with serious or life-limiting illnesses, addressing their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs alongside those of their families.

This programme equips healthcare professionals with advanced skills to deliver holistic, person-centred care that alleviates suffering and supports meaningful living. Through a blend of theory, clinical practice, and reflective learning, students will develop expertise in symptom management, therapeutic communication, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Guided by the values of empathy and humanity, graduates of this programme will be prepared to lead, inspire, and advocate for excellence in palliative care—bringing hope, comfort, and dignity to those at the most vulnerable stages of life.

Programme Aims

Upon successfully completing the programme, students should be able to:

  • Apply the updated knowledge and skills in providing holistic care to clients in the specialty area;
