Biography

Dr Sheena Ramazanu is an Assistant Professor in Nursing and Health Sciences at the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). She serves as an Honorary Visiting Research Fellow at Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore & Visiting Assistant Professor at Universitas of Serang Raya, Indonesia. Dr Ramazanu enjoys nurturing healthcare leaders of tomorrow through evidence based practice. She’s a distinguished scholar, and her guiding principles in life are: Serve- Grow- Excel. Currently, she's  a Global Nursing Leadership Initiative Scholar 2024-2025 at the International Council of Nurses (ICN), Geneva. In Hong Kong, Sheena is selected as one of 31 AmCham's Future Leaders Class of 2024 participant, among a highly competitive pool of participants. From 2024, Sheena is appointed as the World Health Organization Technical Advisor for Diabetes. 

Sheena's previous accomplishments include Atlas Corps Scholar, Fellow of Young South-East Asian Leaders Initiative Academy (YSEALI), Global Regional Council Member at Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International, and The Manchester Leadership Gold Award recipient. She actively serves the community through youth coaching and mentoring initiatives at national and international institutions. She strives to optimise health capacities of underserved communities. Her research studies involve collaborative partnerships with national, regional, and international institutions.

She pursued her nursing degree at University of Manchester- Singapore Institute of Technology and attained a first-class honour. She was presented with an Outstanding Dissertation Achievement Award. From years 2014- 2016, Sheena received University of Manchester Full International Scholarship to pursue Master in Clinical Research. Sheena was awarded the prestigious and competitive Hong Kong PhD fellowship from 2017-2020. She received prestigious awards including, Ministry of Health Gold Medal Award, Tay Eng Soon Health Science Award, World Skills Singapore Silver Medal in Caring, Singapore Nurses Association Award, Capital Land Healthcare Frontlines Award, and ASEAN Science Diplomat Award. 

During her spare time, sheena enjoys travelling, learning new languages and caring for indoor plants.
