With the outbreak of COVID-19 throughout the world, all walks of life in Hong Kong society have been affected. With one mind and one heart, the staff of the School of Nursing and Health Studies, through their professional nursing knowledge, fight the virus together with everyone in society and safeguard the health of Hong Kong people.

Our School, at the very first stage of the pandemic, produced a series of information on fighting the coronavirus disease to increase public awareness. This included producing short video clips to demonstrate the proper ways to perform hand hygiene and use face masks, designing health information leaflets, organising an online Chinese Medicine seminar to explore anti-epidemic and seasonal flu prevention measures, and disseminating anti-epidemic information through a number of channels. Our School also conducted a local survey to understand the degree of Hong Kong adults' reuse of surgical face masks and to enhance public awareness of the proper use of surgical face masks.

In respect of community services, our School has organised and supported a number of activities, in which our teaching staff and students made concerted efforts to help underprivileged groups to fight the virus.

Our School has also invited our teaching staff and alumni to share their anti-epidemic experience, which helped everyone to stay healthy mentally while facing adversity and changes. The “OU People Gallery” has collected many motivational photos and inspirational phrases to offer encouragement to you, me, and everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic because we strongly believe that as long as we work together with one mind and one heart, we will surely succeed in our combat against the coronavirus pandemic.
